FAQs
This is just a list of frequently asked questions (or just questions that I think might get asked).
- What's up with the tree on the left side of the page?
- What are your sources?
- Why isn't the site remembering which theme I've chosen?
- What inspired the themes? Couldn't you have used cookies in another way?
- 1. What's up with the tree on the right side of the page?
- Biologists love trees! Whether we're talking about actual trees or phylogenetic trees, trees have a special place in the heart of every biologist. As to what it's doing on this website, I simply wanted to have something flashy in the background to keep the user interested and perhaps soften the edges of the hard science contained in the various articles.
- 2. What are your sources?
- Admittedly, some of this is paraphrased from Wikipedia. However, the vast majority of the content here is from .pdf files put out by the IUCN/SSC Canid Specialist Group. The Canid Specialist Group and other sources are available from the links page. The IUCN Red List is another GREAT resource. Most pictures came from the IUCN/SSC Canid Specialist Group.
- 3. Why isn't the site remembering which theme I've chosen?
- The chosen theme is determined by a cookie on your computer. If you aren't accepting cookies from this website, the theme will default to "Spring" when the page loads. Please check your browser's settings to see if you are accepting cookies.
- 3. What inspired the themes? Couldn't you have used cookies in another way?
