Urocyon

Genus Urocyon is one of the two genera that make up the "true foxes" (the other being Vulpes). Foxes are distinguished from other members of the dog family by their smaller size and flatter skulls. Their tail-tip is usually a different color than the rest of their coat. Many foxes will cache food that they obtain for consumption at a later time. Members of and Raccoon Dogs are the only canids capable of climbing trees. There may be a third species in this genus called the Cozumel Fox, but I've chosen not to include it as it has not been assessed by science. However, I will add that, if it is a new species, it is highly endangered or may already be extinct.
