The Semantic Web

Resources

This are just some resources that one could use to learn about and implement Semantic Web technologies. Please also go to the links found in the 'Sources' sections of the various pages of this website, many of which aren't included in this section. Please note that these are in no particular order.

Other Resources

'The Semantic Web' Powerpoint
This is the powerpoint given in class. It's a VERY condensed version of the material covered on this website.
Design Issues: Architectural and Philosophical Points
A series of notes produced by Tim Berners-Lee that discuess design issues related to the web. Of particular interest is 'A roadmap to the Semantic Web' and its related notes.
Semantic Web Case Studies and Use Cases
This is a list of Semantic Web use cases compiled by the W3C.
Virtuoso Universal Server
A data server that can handle pretty much everything, including RDF. This was used in many of use cases of Semantic Web technology in the link above. Its Wikipedia page is, perhaps, more understandable than the its website. There is an open source edition available, known as OpenLink Virtuoso.
Keyhole Markup Language (KML) Schema
This is the schema for Keyhole Markup Language (KML), which many people are familiar with because of Google Earth. It is a MUCH better example of schema than the ones I produced for the example pages.
Jena Ontology API
This is a useful API for Java for working with ontologies.
Semantic Web Wiki
This is a Wiki dedicated to the Semantic Web.
